Who is Sarah ?

Hi! I’m Sarah Wasserman, and I believe food is the thread that weaves together our most precious memories. My journey with cooking began in my grandmother’s sun-filled kitchen in Montreal, where the scent of freshly baked challah would fill the air every Friday afternoon.

My Story

Some people find their calling in grand moments. Mine came in tiny spoonfuls, literally. After graduating from culinary school in 2018, I landed what I thought was my dream job at a prestigious restaurant in New York. The food was exquisite, the plating was artistic, but something was missing – the joy of seeing someone’s face light up when they taste something that brings back memories.

Everything changed during a visit home when I watched my grandmother teach my niece how to properly knead dough. Three generations, one kitchen, and countless stories shared over flour-dusted hands. That’s when it hit me: the most flavorful meals aren’t just about perfect techniques or exotic ingredients – they’re about the stories they tell and the memories they create.

I started FlavorFull Recipes with a simple mission: to bring the warmth of family recipes to modern kitchens. Each recipe I share comes with not just ingredients and steps, but the story behind it, variations across cultures, and ways to make it your own. We’re not just cooking meals; we’re preserving traditions and creating new ones.

Sarah: Kitchen Stories & Secrets

🥖 First dish i learned to make?
My grandmother’s challah bread. I still have the handwritten recipe card, complete with food stains and her notes in the margins.

🌿 Favorite ingredient to work with?
Fresh herbs, especially dill. It’s amazing how this simple ingredient can transport you to kitchens across the globe – from Eastern European borscht to Persian rice dishes.

📝 Most treasured kitchen possession?
My recipe journal. It’s filled with recipes collected from family, friends, and travels, each with notes about who shared it and when we first made it together.

🍳 Biggest cooking revelation?
That “perfect” isn’t always better. The slightly imperfect shapes of handmade dumplings or the rustic edges of a homemade pie tell the story of the hands that made them.

👩‍🍳 Kitchen mentor?
My grandmother Sarah (yes, I was named after her!). She taught me that the secret ingredient in any recipe is the story you stir into it.

🌍 Dream food destination?
The home kitchens of grandmothers around the world. Nothing beats learning family recipes passed down through generations.

💝 Best cooking advice received?
“Taste the memories.” My grandmother always said that good food should remind you of something or someone special.

🤔 Cooking philosophy in one sentence?
Every meal is an opportunity to create a memory.

Whether you’re preserving your family’s recipes, starting new traditions, or simply looking to bring more flavor and meaning to your meals, you’re in the right place. Here at FlavorFull Recipes, every dish tells a story, and every kitchen holds the potential for new memories.
