Savory Crockpot Honey Sriracha Pulled Pork Sliders

  • Author: Sarah Wasserman
  • Total Time: 7 hours 13 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

A flavorful and easy pulled pork slider recipe slow-cooked to tender perfection with a sweet and spicy honey sriracha sauce, perfect for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 lbs pork shoulder (pork butt), bone-in or boneless
  • 1/4 cup honey (85 g)
  • 3 tbsp sriracha sauce (45 ml)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp onion powder (8 g)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (2 g)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (30 ml)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 12 small slider buns
  • Optional: pickled jalapeños or slaw for topping

Instructions

  1. Trim any large chunks of fat from the pork shoulder but keep some fat for flavor and moisture. Pat it dry with paper towels. (5 minutes)
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth. (5 minutes)
  3. Place the pork shoulder in the crockpot. Pour the sauce over it, turning the pork to coat evenly. (3 minutes)
  4. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until pork is tender enough to shred easily.
  5. Carefully remove the pork to a large plate or bowl. Use two forks to shred the meat, discarding any large pieces of fat. (10 minutes)
  6. Skim excess fat from the crockpot sauce if desired. Return shredded pork to the crockpot and stir to coat fully with the sauce. Let it sit on warm for 15-20 minutes to soak up flavor. (15 minutes)
  7. Toast slider buns lightly if desired. Pile the pulled pork onto each bun generously. Add optional toppings like pickled jalapeños or crunchy slaw. (10 minutes)

Notes

Pat pork dry before seasoning to help sauce stick and form a sticky glaze. Adjust sriracha amount to control heat level. If sauce is too thin after cooking, reduce on stovetop; if too thick, add apple cider vinegar or water. Let pork rest after cooking to redistribute juices. Toast buns before assembling for best texture.
