Description
A quick and easy fall cocktail combining apple cider, prosecco, and brandy with a cinnamon sugar rim. Perfect for Thanksgiving brunch, Friendsgiving parties, or lazy autumn afternoons.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces apple cider per drink
- 4 ounces prosecco or champagne per drink
- 1 ounce brandy per drink
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for rim)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rim)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (for rim)
- Apple slices for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar rim mixture: In a small shallow dish, combine 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Whisk with a fork until evenly blended.
- Prepare the sticky base: In another small dish, warm 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup slightly (about 10 seconds in the microwave) so it’s runny but not hot.
- Rim the glasses: Dip the rim of a champagne flute or wine glass into the honey, rotating gently to coat the entire edge. Let excess drip off, then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting gently for even coverage. Tap off loose excess and let dry for about 30 seconds.
- Add the brandy: Pour 1 ounce of brandy into each prepared glass.
- Pour the apple cider: Add 4 ounces of apple cider to each glass, pouring slowly down the side to preserve bubbles.
- Top with prosecco: Slowly pour 4 ounces of chilled prosecco or champagne into each glass, pouring at an angle to minimize foam.
- Garnish and serve: Add a thin apple slice to the rim of each glass. If using cinnamon sticks, place one in each glass as a stirrer. Serve immediately.
Notes
Chill all ingredients beforehand for best results. The brandy is essential for depth of flavor—don’t skip it. These are best served immediately as bubbles dissipate quickly. For a non-alcoholic version, use sparkling apple cider and skip the brandy. For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey for the rim.
