Description
A quick and easy charcuterie board featuring crisp apples, jammy figs, creamy brie, and salty prosciutto. Perfect for fall gatherings, this no-cook appetizer comes together in under 20 minutes with simple, seasonal ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2–3 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced
- 6–8 fresh figs, halved
- 1/2 cup dried figs or dates
- 3–4 cheeses (brie, aged gouda, blue cheese, manchego or goat cheese)
- 4–6 ounces prosciutto
- 4–6 ounces salami
- 4–6 ounces soppressata
- 1/2 cup candied pecans or walnuts
- 1/4 cup fig jam or apple butter
- 1 box crackers (water crackers or rosemary crackers)
- 1 baguette, sliced and toasted
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients (10 minutes): Wash and slice apples into thin wedges (about 1/4-inch thick). Toss with lemon juice to prevent browning if making ahead. Halve fresh figs. Slice baguette into 1/2-inch rounds and toast at 350°F for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool.
- Arrange the Cheese (3 minutes): Place cheeses on the board, spacing them evenly. Leave brie whole; cut gouda and manchego into thin wedges.
- Add the Meats (3 minutes): Fold or roll prosciutto into loose ribbons. Fan out salami slices. Group soppressata near firmer cheeses.
- Fill in with Fruit and Nuts (4 minutes): Scatter apple slices and fig halves around the board. Add dried figs near blue cheese. Place small bowls of candied pecans and fig jam in empty spots. Drizzle honey over brie or figs.
- Add Crackers and Bread (2 minutes): Arrange crackers and toasted baguette slices in small clusters around the board.
- Garnish and Finish (1 minute): Tuck fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs between ingredients. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over apples and figs. Add cracked black pepper over brie. Adjust any empty spots.
Notes
Let cheese sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning, or toss with lemon juice. The board is flexible—swap ingredients based on availability. For a warm element, bake brie with honey and walnuts at 350°F for 10 minutes.
