Description
A stunning and stress-free charcuterie board featuring creamy brie, sweet fig jam, salty prosciutto, and crunchy pecans. Perfect for fall entertaining, this board comes together in under 20 minutes and is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- Brie wheel (8 oz)
- Aged cheddar (4 oz)
- Manchego (4 oz)
- Prosciutto (4 oz)
- Salami (4 oz)
- Fig jam or preserves (½ cup)
- Fresh figs (4-6)
- Honey (¼ cup)
- Green apples (1-2)
- Red grapes (1 cup)
- Pecans (½ cup)
- Almonds (½ cup)
- Crackers (1 box)
- Baguette (1 small)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Flaky sea salt (optional)
- Thyme leaves
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients (10 minutes): Take the brie out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving. Slice the baguette into thin rounds. Halve the fresh figs lengthwise. Core and slice the apples—toss them in a little lemon juice to prevent browning. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant. Set everything aside.
- Place the bowls first (2 minutes): Put your small bowls or ramekins on the board first. Add the fig jam to one, honey to another, and toasted pecans or almonds to a third. This anchors the board and creates natural sections.
- Add the cheese (3 minutes): Place the brie wheel whole on the board—don’t slice it yet. Position it near the fig jam bowl. Cut the cheddar and manchego into thin wedges or small cubes and arrange them in separate clusters. Leave space between cheese types so flavors don’t mix too much.
- Layer the meats (3 minutes): Fold the prosciutto slices into loose ribbons or rosettes and place them near the brie. Fan out the salami slices in a small pile on the opposite side. Meats should be easy to grab without tongs.
- Fill in with fruits (3 minutes): Scatter the fresh fig halves, apple slices, and grape clusters around the board. Tuck them into gaps between the cheese and meat. The fruit adds color and freshness—don’t hide it.
- Add the crunch (2 minutes): Arrange the crackers and baguette slices in small stacks or fans around the edges of the board. Leave some crackers leaning against cheese wedges for visual interest.
- Drizzle and garnish (2 minutes): Just before serving, drizzle the honey over the brie wheel. Sprinkle flaky sea salt and fresh thyme leaves over the whole board. Tuck rosemary sprigs in between items for that autumn aesthetic.
- Final check (1 minute): Step back and look at your board. Fill any empty gaps with extra crackers, nuts, or fruit. The goal is a full, abundant look—no bare wood showing.
Notes
Room temperature is non-negotiable for the brie. Let it sit out for at least 30 minutes before serving. Don’t overthink the arrangement—start with bowls and cheese, then fill in gaps. Toast your nuts for better flavor. Watch apple slices—they brown fast; toss in lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Balance salty and sweet. Make extra—this board disappears fast.
