Description
Delicate, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate butter cookies with a luxurious texture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (30g) cocoa powder
- Optional: melted semi-sweet or dark chocolate for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter and ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix for another 30 seconds.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour and ¼ cup (30g) cocoa powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture while mixing on low speed.
- Once the dough comes together, transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe cookie shapes onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are slightly firm. Let cool on a wire rack.
- Optional: Dip cooled cookies into melted chocolate and let them set on parchment paper.
Notes
If your dough feels too stiff to pipe, let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature or add a teaspoon of milk to loosen it slightly. Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best flavor.
