Description
These easy mummy hot dogs with crescent dough are the perfect Halloween snack. Ready in under 20 minutes with just three ingredients, they’re fun, festive, and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8-count) hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- Mustard or ketchup for the eyes
- Optional: Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds
- Optional: Cooking spray or butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into the pre-cut triangles along the perforated lines. You should have 8 triangles total.
- Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle into 3-4 long strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
- Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a dough strip around it, starting at one end and working your way to the other. Leave small gaps between the strips so it looks like bandages. Overlap the dough slightly as you go.
- Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
- Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
- Add the eyes. Once they’re cool enough to handle, use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to dot on two small eyes using mustard or ketchup.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t wrap the dough too tightly to prevent shrinkage. For best results, use regular-sized hot dogs. Can be prepped ahead and refrigerated before baking.
