Description
This creamy, cheesy dip combines cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, crispy bacon, and a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses for the ultimate game day appetizer. It’s quick to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish.
- Cook the bacon in a cold skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then crumble. Reserve about 2 tablespoons for topping.
- If cream cheese is not softened, cut into cubes and microwave for 15-20 seconds until soft but not melted.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch seasoning mix. Mix with a hand mixer or wooden spoon until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in 1/2 cup cheddar, 1/2 cup Monterey Jack, and most of the crumbled bacon (reserve 2 tablespoons for topping). Mix until evenly distributed.
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden around the edges.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle reserved bacon and sliced green onions on top. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips, Fritos scoops, or vegetable sticks.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature cream cheese and shred your own cheese from a block. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes after baking to set. Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated before baking; add 5-10 minutes to baking time if starting cold.
