Description
A quick and easy iced pumpkin chai latte that requires no fancy equipment. Made with real pumpkin puree, chai concentrate, and a simple blending trick for a silky, lump-free drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (100% pure pumpkin)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk of choice (for blending the pumpkin)
- 1/2 cup chai concentrate (e.g., Tazo or Oregon Chai)
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (oat milk recommended)
- Ice cubes (about 1 cup)
- Optional: 1 shot of espresso or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
- Optional garnish: whipped cream, cinnamon or nutmeg, cinnamon stick
Instructions
- In a small bowl or mason jar, combine 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Add 2 tablespoons of milk. Stir or shake until completely smooth (about 30 seconds).
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup).
- Pour the smooth pumpkin mixture over the ice.
- Pour 1/2 cup chai concentrate over the pumpkin base. If using coffee or espresso, add it now. Stir gently.
- Pour 1/2 cup milk over the chai mixture. Stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if desired.
- Garnish with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Don’t skip blending the pumpkin with milk first to avoid lumps. Use cold ingredients to prevent ice from melting too quickly. The pumpkin base can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
