Easy Football Party Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescent Bites

  • Author: Sarah Wasserman
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

These sausage and cream cheese crescent bites are a quick, easy, and crowd-pleasing game day snack featuring savory sausage, creamy cheese, and flaky crescent dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 pound breakfast sausage
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, crumbling and cooking until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Fold the cooked sausage into the cream cheese mixture gently until evenly distributed.
  5. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles on your work surface.
  6. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll up from wide end to point, pinching edges slightly to seal if needed.
  7. Place crescent bites point-side down on a baking sheet spaced about 1 inch apart.
  8. Optional: Brush bites lightly with melted butter or egg wash for extra browning.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until crescent dough is golden brown and puffed.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

Cook the sausage fully before filling to avoid soggy dough. If crescent dough gets too soft, chill briefly before rolling. Do not overfill to prevent bursting during baking. For gluten-free, use gluten-free dough; for dairy-free, substitute cream cheese with plant-based spread.
