Easy Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe 5-Ingredient Game Day Snack

  • Author: Sarah Wasserman
  • Total Time: 3 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip made effortlessly in a crockpot with just five simple ingredients. Perfect for game day or casual get-togethers, this dip is a crowd-pleaser that combines tangy hot sauce, melty cheese, and shredded chicken.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 450g or 1 lb)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (225g)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce (120ml)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (120ml)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 110g)

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken: shred roughly 3 cups (450g or 1 lb) of cooked chicken using two forks or a stand mixer.
  2. Soften cream cheese: let 8 ounces (225g) of cream cheese sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Combine ingredients: in the crockpot insert, add softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup (120ml) buffalo hot sauce, 1/2 cup (120ml) ranch dressing, and shredded chicken. Stir gently until well mixed.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese: fold in 1 cup (110g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, reserving a small handful for topping if desired.
  5. Cook low and slow: cover crockpot and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours, stirring halfway through.
  6. Final touches: sprinkle reserved cheddar cheese on top and cook uncovered for the last 10 minutes to melt and create a cheesy crust.
  7. Serve warm: scoop directly from the crockpot with sturdy spoon. Great with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

If dip is too thick near the end, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of milk or chicken broth to loosen. Softening cream cheese before mixing prevents lumps. Stir gently during cooking to avoid breaking texture. Keep crockpot on warm after cooking to maintain gooey texture. Can be baked at 350°F for 25-30 minutes if no crockpot is available.
