Description
This festive charcuterie board is arranged in a wreath shape, making it a stunning centerpiece and appetizer for holiday gatherings. It comes together in under 20 minutes with simple ingredients and is always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces salami, thinly sliced
- 6 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
- 6 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 8 ounces Gouda, cut into thin wedges
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup red seedless grapes, washed and separated into small clusters
- 1 cup green seedless grapes, washed and separated into small clusters
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup black olives, pitted
- 1/4 cup green olives, pitted
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Fresh thyme sprigs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
- Crackers or crostini, for serving
Instructions
- Place your round board on a flat surface. If using a wooden board, ensure it is clean and dry.
- Arrange fresh rosemary sprigs in a circular pattern around the outer edge of the board to form the ‘pine needles’ of the wreath. Tuck in a few thyme sprigs for texture.
- Place the cream cheese in the center of the board. Arrange cheddar cubes, Gouda wedges, and mozzarella balls in clusters around the wreath, leaving space between each group.
- Fold salami slices in half, then in half again to create small triangles. Arrange these in a ring just inside the rosemary border. Loosely drape prosciutto slices to create ruffles. Place pepperoni slices in another ring, slightly overlapping.
- Scatter grape clusters around the board, tucking them between meat and cheese piles. Sprinkle dried and fresh cranberries over the top. Place black and green olives in small piles spaced evenly around the wreath.
- Drizzle honey over the cream cheese in the center. Scatter mixed nuts in the gaps. Add crackers or crostini around the outer edge of the board, just inside the rosemary ring.
- Step back and fill any empty spots with extra grapes, nuts, or small herb sprigs to make the board look abundant.
Notes
Assemble no more than 4 hours before serving. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Take out 15 minutes before serving to let cheeses come to room temperature. For best results, pat mozzarella balls and olives dry to avoid sogginess. Use a ramekin for honey to prevent mess.
