Easy Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Cranberry Pecans

  • Author: Sarah Wasserman
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A warm, gooey baked brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry with sweet-tart cranberry sauce and crunchy pecans. This easy recipe is perfect for holiday gatherings, family dinners, or any occasion that calls for comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel of Brie cheese
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/3 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt, for finishing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Let the brie sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet into a 12×12-inch square.
  3. Place the brie in the center of the pastry. Spoon the cranberry sauce on top of the brie, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cranberry sauce. Drizzle with honey if using.
  4. Fold the pastry over the brie, bringing the corners up and over, pinching the seams to seal. Trim excess pastry if desired.
  5. Flip the package over so the seam is on the bottom. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the entire surface with the beaten egg. Make decorative cuts on top with a sharp knife if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and deep golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Freeze the brie for 10 minutes before wrapping to help it hold its shape. Use thick cranberry sauce to prevent sogginess. Let the baked brie rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting to avoid burns.
