Easy Apple Cider Mimosa: Best 5-Minute Fall Cocktail

  • Author: Sarah Wasserman
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick and easy fall cocktail made with apple cider, Prosecco, and a cinnamon sugar rim. Ready in 5 minutes, it’s perfect for brunches, parties, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 lemon wedge (optional, for rim)
  • 4 ounces apple cider per glass
  • 4 ounces Prosecco or champagne per glass
  • Ice (optional)
  • Apple slices for garnish
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small shallow dish, combine 2 tablespoons granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Whisk with a fork until evenly combined.
  2. Apply a thin layer of honey or maple syrup (about 1 teaspoon per glass) around the rim of each champagne flute using a pastry brush or your finger. Alternatively, run a lemon wedge around the rim.
  3. Hold each glass upside down and gently dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Twist slightly to ensure even coverage. Lift and tap gently to remove excess. Let sit upright for about 30 seconds.
  4. Fill each rimmed glass halfway with apple cider (about 4 ounces, or until the glass is about 40% full).
  5. Slowly pour chilled Prosecco or champagne into each glass, filling to about 80% full. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  6. Gently stir once with a cinnamon stick (if using). Garnish with a thin apple slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

The cinnamon sugar rim will soften over time, so serve within 5-10 minutes of preparation. For a less sweet drink, reduce apple cider to 3 ounces and increase Prosecco to 5 ounces. Chill all ingredients beforehand for best results. For a non-alcoholic version, replace Prosecco with sparkling apple cider or ginger ale.
