Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, crushed
- 1/2 cup chocolate (for ganache)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your cake pans and line them with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
- Beat the peanut butter and powdered sugar together until fluffy. Add a splash of milk if it’s too thick.
- Spread frosting between the layers, then cover the entire cake with more frosting.
- Heat the heavy cream until steaming, then pour it over the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth, then drizzle over the cake.
- Crush Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and sprinkle them generously on top. Add whole cups or pieces for extra flair.
- Let the cake chill for 30 minutes before serving to allow the ganache to set.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the cake light. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
