Description
A rich, silky chocolate filling encased in a buttery crust, perfect for celebrations or cozy evenings. This decadent dessert is easy to make and guaranteed to impress.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (100g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pre-baked pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the rack in the center position.
- If using a homemade crust, roll it out and fit it into your pie tin. Pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes to ensure it stays crisp.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cocoa powder and granulated sugar until evenly combined.
- Melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Whisk in the eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter into the dry mixture.
- Once the mixture is smooth, pour it into the pre-baked pie crust. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will remain slightly soft.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use room-temperature eggs and butter. Pre-bake the crust to avoid sogginess, and don’t overbake the pie to maintain its fudgy texture.
