- 1 3/4 cups (420ml) buttermilk
- 1 stick (1/2 cup or 113g) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Place 1 stick of unsalted butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish and melt it in the oven. Remove once melted.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. The batter will be thick and sticky.
- Carefully pour the batter into the melted butter in the baking dish. Spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Lightly score the top of the batter into 9 squares.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crispy.
- Let the biscuits cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
