Description
A refreshing summer drink made with sweet peaches and tangy lemons, perfect for backyard barbecues, poolside lounging, or lazy afternoons.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 ripe peaches (about 1 pound or 450 grams)
- 6–8 fresh lemons (about 1 cup or 240 ml of lemon juice)
- 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
- 5 cups (1200 ml) water (1 cup for syrup, 4 cups for dilution)
- Ice (as needed)
- Optional garnishes: fresh mint leaves, peach slices, or lemon wedges
Instructions
- Wash and pit 4-5 ripe peaches. Slice them into chunks and blend until smooth.
- In a saucepan, combine the peach puree, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Pour the peach mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl to remove any pulp. Set the syrup aside.
- Squeeze about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (roughly 6-8 lemons, depending on size).
- In a large pitcher, combine the peach syrup, lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to blend.
- Add plenty of ice to the pitcher. Pour into glasses and garnish with peach slices, lemon wedges, or mint leaves if desired.
Notes
For a fizzy version, replace half the water with sparkling water. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste by adding more peach syrup or lemon juice. Chill the lemonade for a few hours before serving for the best flavor.
