Description
This quick and easy iced coffee recipe lets you skip the coffee shop lines and enjoy a refreshing, customizable drink at home in just five minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (480 ml) freshly brewed coffee
- Ice cubes (regular or coffee ice cubes)
- 1–2 tablespoons simple syrup (or honey, agave, or flavored syrups)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk or cream (whole milk, almond milk, oat milk, or half-and-half)
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon, drizzle of caramel, or scoop of ice cream
Instructions
- Brew the coffee: Start with 2 cups (480 ml) of freshly brewed coffee using your preferred method. For stronger flavor, use a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio.
- Cool the coffee: Let the coffee cool for 5-10 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, pop it in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes.
- Prepare your glass: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. If you have coffee ice cubes, even better!
- Add sweetener: Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of simple syrup, depending on your desired sweetness.
- Pour the coffee: Slowly pour the cooled coffee over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
- Add milk or cream: Top it off with 1/4 cup (60 ml) of milk or cream. Watch as the gorgeous swirls form!
- Mix and enjoy: Stir gently to combine, and sip your perfectly homemade iced coffee.
- Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a café-style treat.
Notes
For best results, use freshly brewed coffee that’s cooled slightly. Coffee ice cubes prevent dilution, and a pinch of salt can reduce bitterness. Experiment with flavors like vanilla extract or chocolate syrup for a unique twist.
