Description
This Hot Fudge Pie is a rich, gooey chocolate dessert with a golden crust, perfect for cozy evenings or special occasions. It’s easy to make and delivers nostalgic, comforting flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place your pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate and butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and cocoa powder.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the cooled chocolate mixture. Whisk until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir gently until fully incorporated, but do not overmix.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. The top should be set, but the center will still jiggle slightly.
- Let the pie cool on a rack for 2 hours to allow the filling to set completely.
- Slice and serve with fudge sauce or whipped cream. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality chocolate and unsalted butter. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to ensure the filling sets properly. If the crust edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil strips during baking.
