- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (115g) melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (60g) chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup (85g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas until smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture if desired.
- Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and brown sugar to the mashed bananas. Whisk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently with a spatula. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in chopped walnuts and chocolate chips, reserving a few for sprinkling on top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top begins to brown too quickly, tent it with foil.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
