Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2 inch rounds
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (or coconut oil for vegan option)
- Optional toppings: honey, maple syrup, whipped cream
Instructions
- Peel 2-3 bananas and slice them into even rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Swirl the pan to evenly coat the surface.
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the skillet. Be careful not to overcrowd them.
- Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the bananas.
- Let the bananas cook for about 2 minutes on one side until the bottoms are golden and slightly caramelized.
- Gently flip each banana slice and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. They should be soft but still hold their shape.
- Transfer the bananas to a plate and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and caramelization. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking. For a vegan option, substitute butter with coconut oil.
