Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup milk (whole milk, almond milk, or oat milk)
- 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup salted butter, sliced into thin pats
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, and milk. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread creamy peanut butter evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips generously over the peanut butter layer.
- Place the thin pats of butter evenly over the cake.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Let the cake cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature eggs and milk. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy. If the edges brown too quickly, cover the dish with foil during baking.
